This book “Textbook of Prasuti Tantra” is meant mainly for the undergraduate and postgraduate students of Ayurveda stream, but a few chapters may be also useful to M.B.B.S. students. I have tried to explain the difficult subject of Ayurveda in a simple and scientific way as possible. In this book, all Ayurvedic principles have been explained according to modern medical science, and diseases are symptomatically correlated with Modern diseases. The book “Text Book of Prasuti Tantra” is divided into total of twelve chapters. The first three chapters cover the – Introduction of Stree Roga and Prasuti Tantra, Female Anatomy, and Physiology. Chapters 4 to 7 related to pregnancy included Garbha Vignyana, Garbhini Vignyana, Garbha vyapada, and Garbhini Vyapada, Chapters 8 and 9 described the Labour (Prasava) and labor-related problems (Prasava vyapada). Chapters 10 and 11 are related to Puerperium (Sutika) and Lactation (Dhatri and Stanya). Chapters 12 Obstetric emergency and critical care is also included for completion of this book by which the book may be helpful to students of modern medicine, Homeopathy, and Unani medicine also. The technique of procedures is described as stepwise and presentation of different pathogenesis in a chart and comparative presentation with modern medical science with Ayurvedic concepts is a specialty of this book. This colored book is a representation of the advancement that Ayurvedic literature is making to occupy a space in the contemporary medicine industry.
