Through Golden Triangle Partnership Scheme (GTP) coordinated by CCRAS – Ministry of AYUSH generated evidence on quality (chemical characterisation) and safety profiles of the eight most commonly used metal and mineral-based medicines in clinical practice in collaboration with CSIR and ICMR. Further, in continuation to GTP scheme, the Council has completed a multi-centric pre-clinical toxicity/safety study with the objective to prepare these Rasakalpas complying with classical methods mentioned in Ayurveda text and chemical standardisation. The objective of this publication is also to find out the target toxicity organ and establish a safety level after oral administration. This publication Quality and Safety of Select Rasakalpa (Metal & Mineral Based Ayurvedic Formulations) Vol. – 2, would certainly disseminate the merits of these Ayurvedic interventions in light of safety and rationale use among diverse stakeholders such as practicing physicians, researchers, policymakers and pharmaceutical industries, more so ever public in general.
